33 wk appt

I had an appt yesterday and all went good. The dr said my belly is measuring larger than expected for 33 weeks so she wants me to have an ultrasound next Monday to see how big the baby is. I thought this was strange since I never measured large with Robert and he was a big baby at 9lb 4oz, 22 in! We'll see what happens :)

32 weeks

Well, again I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since my last post. I had my 32 wk check-up last Friday and everything was good....until I went to bed Sunday night and woke up at 3am Monday with regular contractions. They felt like really strong Braxton Hicks...no pain but uncomfortable and not normal. I even had the pressure in my back. I was up for a couple hours, drank some water, and timed them at an average of 5 min apart. Fell asleep at 5, woke up at 7am and still had them regularly at 3-6min apart. I went in to see my dr and she sent me to the triage at our hospital. I was hooked up to the monitors, given IV fluids and finally a shot of terbutaline when the nurse said that yep, I'm definitely having contractions. I had an ultrasound and several tests done that all came back normal. The regular contractions finally eased up and the supposed result was that I was just really dehydrated. I've been getting over a sore throat/cold thing that turned into a bad night time cough late last week, (which I actually think I fractured a rib from it), and haven't had much sleep at all...and I guess I haven't drank enough fluids. The weather has been cold and very dry which doesn't help either. So, I was told to just take it easy and drink 1 gal of water a day!! That will be tough, even though I like water!

All in all, I'm good now, except for the pain in my rib when I breathe deep or cough/sneeze....as if I don't have enough discomforts to deal with right now!! The hardest part for me through all of this is to relax more. The fun part through all of that was seeing our little boy on the ultrasound. He is measuring right on except for a big head...just a normal part of being the son of my husband! Little Robert measured the same way too. It calculated him to be about 4lb 12oz, which is more like the average 33-34wk baby, so he's the weight of a big pineapple (or a small cantaloupe)!

Just a quick update now that I'm 30 weeks and I didn't realize it's been 2 weeks since I last posted! Been busy trying to empty out our smallest bedroom (7'x9'), which has been an office, to prepare to set up the nursery. We had to sell our desk and will have to move our laptop out to the living room and store the rest of the office stuff in a closet. If you didn't know, our house is only 616 sf and has 3 bedrooms so you can imagine how tiny each room is!! We just have to make due with what we have since we never were able to sell in the down market, or build an addition yet. But, at least we have a roof over our heads!

Next on the list is adding an extra shelf in our closet and expanding our short linen closet for more storage space. Then we'll be painting and looking for a crib and dresser! Well I'm getting uncomfortable with a laptop sitting on my lap...I'm not comfortable much anymore unless I'm walking around. Even sleeping or laying down for awhile hurts my back and hips...pillows all around me don't seem to help too much either. Just sitting sometimes makes it hard to breathe, similar to laying on your back when pregnant. The baby must be comfy resting on my main artery so I have to move around to get enough oxygen and circulation!! Sounds scary but it's just an annoyance really. Ok I'm going now! Will take a belly picture soon...it's grown quite a bit!

P.S. The nurse just called and said my 1hr glucose test results were perfect!! It was 61, which is quite a difference from 138 when I carried Robert!
